It’s loaded with features and comes with the much sought after 4C lens technology which proves a perfect 1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating and its decent sized lens provides a full range of view. The 4 arc sensors ensure you’ll never have to worry about getting flashed even if you work at awkward angles where obstructions could block one or two. The grind mode is useful if you regularly switch between tasks so you don’t have to take your hood off every time. With Lincolns comfortable, pivot style headgear you can weld all day and forget you’re even wearing the hood. Overall the Viking 2450 is a great welding helmet but I’d opt for spending a few extra dollars to get its big brother the 3350.

The reaction time is surprisingly fast for the price and the sensitivity and delay settings are easy to adjust. If you’re just starting out or need a helmet that does the basics very well without breaking the bank, the Viking 1740 is a great option.
