Whats Good?

Features 4C Lens Technology

Lincoln Electric is one of the few brands that have been able to achieve a 1/1/1/1 optical rating by EN370 standards, which gives you a perfect view of the weld. The 4 C’s stand for: clarity, color, carat and cut, making it one of the best lenses on the market.  It helps to reduce eye strain while improving visibility so you’re eyes don’t feel so tired at the end of a long day. The lens also cuts down on the bright green glow that is prevalent in other welding helmets, giving it a much more natural color.

Large Viewing Field

This is especially important for beginners who are much more comfortable when they are able to see more. While the standard 2 x 4 lens is fine, the more you’re able top see the better quality of work you’ll produce.

Comfortable Headgear

The Lincoln Viking 2450 pivot-style headgear is sought after in the industry. It is insanely comfortable which, when you’re wearing it all day, plays a huge part in your ability to work and produce quality welds. If you constantly have to readjust your hood, you’ll be miserable and annoyed in a matter of hours. That’s not the case with this helmet. The headgear comes with a removable front pad so you can wash it when it gets too sweaty.

Sleek Shell Design

The Viking 2450 shell is a thing of beauty. The sleek contoured lines make it look almost futuristic. Coupled with the glossy black paint, this hood is probably the most stylish one out there. Its sleekness isn’t just for looks though, its designed to draw smoke and fumes away from your face and up into the air keeping you safe from toxic gases. Despite its good looks, the Lincoln Viking 2450 is extremely rugged and will stand the test of time.

Cheater Lens/ Hardhat Capable

Like most modern helmets you’re able to attach a cheater lens if needed. If you work in an environment that requires you to wear a hardhat, the Viking 2450 provides enough room to comfortably wear one.

Several Shell Graphics Available

While some people don’t care about what their helmet looks like, some make it a priority to stand out. This hood comes in several awesome graphic designs: Graveyard Shift, Heavy Metal, Aztec, All American, Camo and more.

Comes with Extra Stuff

You cant complain about extra stuff. The Lincoln Viking 2450 comes with a protective carrying bag, extra inner and outer lens covers and a page of decals to customize your hood even more.

Whats Bad?

Paint is Scratched Easily

While the shiny black finish looks amazing, if you’re welding on a daily basis or weld in tight spaces where bumping occurs, the paint scratches easily. But that’s really a minor thing, besides, the rougher your hood looks the more it looks like you have experience.

Knobs to Hold Hood Up Loosen Easily

This is a problem among most auto darkening welding helmets. The lens is often too heavy to be kept up for long periods.

The Verdict

Like all Lincoln products the Viking 2450 does not disappoint and would make a great addition to any welders workbench. The industry leading 4C lens technology that provides a perfect 1/1/1/1 optical rating is the biggest selling point. It provides the welder with an impressively clear view of the weld while eliminating eye strain so common with other hoods. Both newbies and professionals will find the Lincoln Viking 2450 to be an outstanding welding helmet that will last for years to come.
